Brian Hogan has been playing music from a very early age joining his father’s group at the age of ten and forming many bands after. He joined Kíla, highly regarded as Ireland’s most innovative contemporary folk and new world artists in 1996 and notable highlights since including Glastonbury Festival, Reading, Cambridge Folk Festival, Womad Festivals worldwide, Oxygen, the Electric Picnic, and the Montreaux Jazz Festival amongst others worldwide.Kíla have had the privilege of playing the Opening Ceremony of the Special Olympics, Dublin and Possibilities, the event that welcomed the Dalai Lama to Ireland.
In 2008 Brian with Kila shared a number-one-hit alongside U2 and The Dubliners (The Ballad Of Ronnie Drew) and in both 2010 and 2014 Oscar nominations for ‘Cartoon Saloon’s’ animated features ‘The Secret of Kells’ and “Song of The Sea”. They have just completed the soundtrack for ‘Cartoon Saloon’s’ latest animated feature ‘Wolfwalkers’ (musical score collaborations between Bruno Coulais & Kíla).
Kíla was also nominated for an Emmy in 2015 for their soundtrack to the film “Ireland’s Wild River” and now has just been nominated for an IFTA for the best score on the new film ‘Arracht’, which Brian co-composed, recorded, and produced.
Brian also produced Kíla’s 19th latest live album ‘Alive Beo’.

 

Aoife Kelly is a fiddle player from co. Kildare has been involved in music from as far back as she can remember. Her influences range from traditional Irish music to classical to gypsy jazz to rock to country.. The diversity of her interests has led her sharing the stage with an extremely eclectic variety of groups and artists, such as Christy Moore, The Chieftans, The Dropkick Murphy’s, Kodaline and Kila as well as numerous international tours and recording stints in Nashville
In more recent times she is concentrating on expanding her repertoire to other genres such as house and techno music by working with a variety of Irish based DJs such as Al Gibbs, all the while remaining true to her classical and traditional Irish foundations
