Twisted Hits Bio

Twisted Hits is Ireland’s freshest Covers Band. They take the songs you know and love to dance to and give them a fresh and funky makeover that promises to have everybody dancing. Made up of Ireland’s finest musicians; Chrissie (Blacktye / The Back Alley Band), Floyd (The Floyd Earl Band), Leo (Supertonic Sound Club / Vinci), Domo (Composer) and Mick (Samantha Mumba) came together to form a Covers Band Super Group. They bring their exceptional musical skills to your event to ensure that the party keeps going well into the night.

Twisted Hits – Meet the Band

Chrissie Melvin **Vocals** Chrissie is no stranger to the music scene started off in the business at the tender age of 17. Chrissie has fronted some of Ireland’s top acts such as “Just girls”, The Back Alley Band, Blacktye, 20th Century Gold, Soul Sister’s but to name just a few. Chrissie has traveled many countries in her career including playing twice for the Irish troops out in Lebanon. She has also played some of Irelands famous stages including the Olympia theatre, Vicar Street and Dublin’s beautiful NCH. Chrissie’s love and dedication to music just keep growing she is delighted to be part of this wonderful line up with Twisted Hits singing all the songs we know and love.
Domo Dixon **Guitar & Vocals** Domo is an accomplished composer, guitarist, and producer. He has toured all over the world for many years playing original material, recorded five studio albums for various record companies and has played or guested on many others. In between busy touring schedules he has found the time to produce and engineer music for Irish bands, earn a Master’s degree in music and teach music to hundreds of students. Domo currently resides in Dublin where he composes music for media productions, plays guitar for Twisted Hits and drinks copious amounts of tea.
Mick Whelan **Keys & Vocals** Mick has been a stalwart member of the Dublin music scene. He is known as the go to keyboard player for many bands. He has played on albums and toured with Samantha Mumba, Maria Doyle Kennedy, The Walls, and Hope Sandoval & the Warm Inventions to name but a few. Nowadays Mick spends most of his time bringing his groove to Twisted Hits and being a super dad to his two sons
Leonardo Cassandro **Drums** Leo is an Italian drummer, 13 years living and gigging in Ireland. Over 15 years of experience in live music and recording session, both in original (Vinci, Supertonic Sound Club, and more) and cover bands. He’s in charge of Groove bringing, ass shaking, and generally overall awesome funky beat making. A job he carries out with remarkable dedication!

Floyd Earl Crow **Bass & Vocals** Floyd hails from the Welsh Borders in England. He played in London in the 80s with This Witness and The Enchanted, supporting Hazel O’Connor and also the The Blockheads. He then went on to play with virtuoso guitarist Dave Kilminster in Los Desperados. This was followed by reggae band Floyd Earl and the Smilers settling down to play with the funk based Floyd Earl Band. On moving to Ireland he has taken up with the likes of Pat Byrne of The Voice, Alan Downey of Aslan and Pete Holidai. He now dedicates his time to Twisted Hits and his new found love—Barry’s Tea.
